ALK and ROS1 gene rearrangements, which are mainly involved in promoting cancer cell growth, occur in approximately 4% and 2% of lung adenocarcinomas, respectively. Although the frequency of these genomic alterations is low, their diagnosis offers patients with lung cancer the opportunity to receive highly effective targeted therapies. This test detects the expression levels of ROS1 and ALK on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded patient blocks by Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
