Acute myeloid leukemias (AMLs) are a heterogeneous group of most common leukemias characterized by the clonal expansion of myeloid blasts (eg, undifferentiated myeloid precursors) in the peripheral blood, bone marrow, and/or other tissues, which results in impaired hematopoiesis and bone marrow failure.
